I was searching online and found this statistic..
A library in Indiana that has a program to encourage parents to read 1,000 books to their kids before entering kindergarten.
The first FAQ is this one:
"Can you really expect to read 1000 books to your child before kindergarten?
If you read only one bedtime story every night for three years you will have read 1095!
If you read 10 books each week for two years, you will have read 1040.
Double that rate to do 1000 books in one year.
You can begin much earlier though, when your child is an infant!"
Reading to my kids is my favorite part of my day. Hands down. Our rule is three books a night. (Bc Ollie is three- not sure how that came about, but it works bc they each get to choose one and so do Scott or I) Three books at nap time. During nap time Calvin and have reading time for a few minutes.
Maybe we should move to Indiana!
