Summer is Here

Summer is here and we have had some good times already in the last few weeks. Dad managed to get away from work for a little bit and took Calvin camping. He was due for some alone time with his dad. We had so much fun that I forgot to take many pictures. We slept in a tent, had cookies for breakfast and dinner, played mini golf, rode the go carts, and went kayaking on the East China Sea.

Before leaving, I made Calvin a PB&J to eat on the way home. We did not make it a 1/2 mile down the road and he was already asleep. That sandwich sat on his leg the whole way home. This is one of my favorite parts of doing things with the boys, when they get in the car and you get to watch them peacefully fall asleep.

Since I have been at work so much, Joy went with a a friend and spent 3 days at a cabin on another beach here on the island. They had a great time, even though the weather did not really cooperate with them. They went to a park nearby and spent time with the animals and then went over to the aquarium. Here is Oliver on the turtle that later tried to eat Calvin's hand.

They at least sent me a video to let me know how much fun they were having....thanks.

We also got to go camping about a month ago with the entire family and several of the members from the church here. Here is me on the glass-bottom boat with the kiddos. This is right before Oliver fell asleep while we were out there.

Mom's Day

My boys are good at spoiling me. Words make me the happiest.

Rocking Ollie to sleep he said one of his first three-word sentences, "Wuv u Mommy."

After reading Calvin his books, "Why aren't you closing your eyes Calvin?"

"Because I am looking at the world's greatest treasure."

"What is that?"

"It's you, mom!"

And Scott's words are too long and private to share.

Happy Mom's Day song!!!

Blue Boy

Ever since going to the The Huntington as a little girl, I have loved Pinkie and Blue Boy.

Today, Calvin and I named Ollie Blue Boy.

Whenever I see a picture, email forward or the like of a little child that had just wrecked havoc, my first though is always, "where were their parents?"

So before you think it, I will tell you. Calvin and I were baking PB cookies for Daddy, and we were having a lot of fun. I did not know that Calvin had left his markers out within Ollie's reach. Thank goodness they are washable.
