New Years

New Years Day was a bag of mixed feelings in the Wilson home. Grandma had been here for three weeks and we had really gotten used to having her around, especially Calvin. We had been trying to prep him for her departure, but we were not quite sure how it was going to go.

Things were fine while we were still inside the airport, as the playgrounds inside the airport helped ease the pain. Eventually we left and told Calvin we were going to go outside and watch her airplane take off into the sky (we were really just gonna pick the first plane we saw...nice parents huh?). As soon as we pointed to a plane...this is what we got. You have to view it larger to get the full effect...

Fortunately, we were able to find a pretty cool park nearby. Calvin was able let his sorrows drift away on the roller slides they had there.

I think they are a lot of fun for kids, but for those of us that are draggin' some wagon, it tends to burn a little...

He really only takes comfort in the fact that Grandma has told him she is going to come back again while we are here...right Grandma???
