Okuma

Joy's mother is in town, so Scott decided to do something he has not done since being here...take some leave. So, we took a couple of days and got a room up at the resort in Okuma, which is on the northern part of the island. We spent Joy's birthday up there and just relaxed for a couple days.

It was a little chilly while we were up there, so we did not get to do a whole lot in the water. We were also up there Mon-Wed, so at times it felt like we were the only ones there.

Oliver was all over the place, as usual. At least he knows to stay out of the water.

I made Joy do a Crossfit workout with me on the beach. She was a sport. The kiddos were proud of her and posed for a picture afterwards.

We spent one of the mornings up at Hedo Point. It is the very northern tip of the island, where the Pacific Ocean meets the East China Sea.

Another day we went down to the Okinawa Aquarium. We saw big turtles, sharks, the dolphin show, and lion fish...though most of time was spent keeping track of where Oliver had run off to.

Doing our best lion fish impression...

How you know the trip was successful...

AFN

Armed Forces Network. Here, we don't get cable, just patriotic commericals. Our commerials teach you base rules and all the capitals of the United States. And Calvin has no idea what new toys are out there for Christmas. I love it.

And I heard this on our one radio station tonight, so I thought I would share.
