We always keep you posted on the kiddos, but here are some of the things Joy and I have been up to.
This is Joy almost vomiting on the boat ride out to the Karama Islands where we went snorkeling. Set of islands about an hour off the western coast of the island.
Me getting back into the boat. Picture does not even do justice to how nice, clear, and blue the water was.
Us.
Joy and Oliver at Sesoko Island. I recently purchased a new road bike, so I rode out to the island with some friends and met the family there. Joy was able to snorkel again here. I was all snorkeled out. It just gets boring after a while, being on a tropical island and always being at the beach with all that crystal clear water and vibrant sea life to look at.
We have even been able to get out and sample some of the local cuisine. White fish sashimi...always a solid choice. Can you believe the presentation?
And of course, the sushi combo. Look good, Mom?? Joy is coming around to seafood, but has yet to take the plunge into the uncooked variety.
Finally, we managed to go visit Shuri Castle, the largest one on the island. It was blown up by the Americans during the Battle of Okinawa (Navy did it) but rebuilt later. Fascinating place.

Yeah - I imagine it gets really hard being on a beautiful tropical island. If you want, I can send you pictures of dirt and cacti? Joy - how was the snorkeling?
I love seeing pictures of you guys! You look like the island life is treating you well! That little Ollie has grown up so much.
it is really so fun to see what YOU TWO have been up to. It looks like you are taking full advantage of your surroundings. What a beautiful place. And I am SOOO jealous about the food. Joy-you are missing out, get that sushi in your mouth. i am sure once you get back to the US of A it will be so dissapointingly lame to eat sushi.
Wow, I feel sorry for you two. Live in paradise, lots of fresh sushi. life sucks
